Gordon Brown's new book.

Even at the beginning, in just the introduction, you will see what I mean. He quotes John Maynard Keynes, "The difficulty lies no so much in developing new ideas as in escaping from old ones."

Now, I'm a slow reader as I am sure many of you know, but this is gripping stuff that is a rallying call to the masses and the few. Honestly I sometimes find I can only take so much of a good book at a time. Hilary's amazing The Mirror And The Light is a great example. I eek it out in a very pleasurable way because it is so good, but also because the pictures she paints are so extraordinarily painted. Similarly Gordon's book has so many ideas I can only do a bit at a time, but my oh my, it is exciting.

I hope you are all well.  N x
