I had a week on the Isle of Wight last week. My first on set time as an Exec Producer. What a privilege. I have rarely, if ever, known a set as hard working and as lovely as this. I was also lucky enough to be in this week, and that was very nerve wrecking. I have spent so long with this project that I felt I really must mess up the lines, let alone the character! Billy Howle is luckily a lovely man to watch work. And SO GOOD. Dome is a properly challenging director who doesn't let you get away with any lazy behaviour, at the same time as keeping the set floor a terrific place to work. I didn't get much of a chance to see the marvellous Jared work, but I did see him and Cush do one scene. Blimey they can deliver the goods too.
One of my dear chums form Wolf Hall, Paul Jesson, is working on it today, but I shall miss him dammit. Again, he is pure class. This series has a lot going for it. I hold my breath with excitement. I have to go back solely as an exec, none of this acting lark, and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! Updates to come. Stay safe, Stay well. x
